I liked the job only left for personal reasons. Pros Company vehicle, 3 day weekend. Cons Short break, paid bi weekly. Great pay, supportive environment, and lots of bonuses. They motivate you on most of your tasks. Easy work day sometimes and very productive in holidays. Pros Great pay. Cons Less people sometimes. If you don't mind being told you'll be fired if you don't take 60 calls a day, you have to say i'm sorry in every call, you can't ask customers to stop cussing at you, you have someone listening to every call, they train you then just stick you out on the floor and expect you to know everything they do, you can't talk directly to your supervisor you have to IM them and wait for an answer but you can only keep customer on hold 3 min at a time, they promise bonuses but if you do any of these things wrong they'll take points of so you can't get it.
They don't care about the customer and how long they have to wait to get their furniture. It normally comes broke then they have to wait because number one rule is send a tech but it should just be exchanged then they have to wait for a date for that. People wonder why customers are screaming. Not a great place to work and make sure you don't ask to many questions it's like working in a factory. Yes There are 2 helpful reviews 2 No There are 1 unhelpful reviews 1.
The clients that come in the store to buy. Typical day at work starts early with a meeting every day. Management is the worst I had in my entire work history…They are two-faced and are there just for their paycheck. They discriminate amongst employees. Also they hate dealing with customers and when they do they are the most rude people you can imagine. Customers are even afraid to deal with them. The culture is cut throat between salespeople. If you are weak the rest will eat you alive.
The benefits are the only good thing at RTG! Pros Free parking. Cons No drinking water for employees, discrimination by management. If you have any hope of getting everything done you must arrive to work early or stay late as a manager. Your main job will to be a punching bag for the customers and sales associates. You have no power to do what you need to to make sure your customers are taken care. Everything is micromanaged by the regional office.
You spend your days being yelled out by customers who have had their items delivered broken multiple times or furniture dates that keep getting pushed back. Cons Micromanagement, no work life balance. Good company with good benefits. You have to at least load 2 trucks daily. You have to be quick loading trucks. Yes No There are 1 unhelpful reviews 1. Great place to work. You have the potential to make all the money you want. You just have to hustle.
Plenty of customers. Pros Bonus. Cons Problem with smoking break. It's not my fault that you didn't follow what you and the other co-workers stated about the delivery time. I have patiently waited on my items. I also advised him that he has an attitude and I don't think that Rooms to Go hired him to be a part of the problem that you are here to help people or customers solved the issue and come to some resolution. He stated in a nasty voice that he doesn't have an attitude.
I had to walk away due to him not allowing me to talk as well as I was literally in tears due to the fact I wanted my furniture for my guest and I just moved to Texas. Needless to say, I have tried calling Corporate to see if there is something could be done.
That's like trying to get into Congress to speak to Speaker of the house. I'll not ever purchase anything else from them nor will I suggest them to the college students and parents when they need to have dorm rooms filled with furniture. I work for higher education, with over , students. You just lost a lot of business. They delivered the wrong furniture, and instead of offering to fix the problem, the delivery guy chose to make rude comments.
I asked for a manager more than 4 times and was hung up on multiple times. I requested a call back and no one ever did. A poor call center rep that had nothing to do with the problem had to resolve the situation.
And when they did deliver what we purchased, it was clearly used, as it had none of the factory packing the first item did.
I will never buy from Rooms to Go again. I used to work retail and was shocked at how bad Rooms to Go customer service is. What made the maddest is that the delivery driver chose to make a snarky comment to me despite the fact it was their mistake. No ownership. Rude, unprofessional, inferior. Caveat emptor. I reside in Nassau, Bahamas. I called on Sunday July 11, to canceled order. I also asked for entire refund to be deposit on Debit Card but was told it was against company policy.
Shantel said she'll pass information to their Accounts Dept. July 19, I called and was told by Corleen that cheque was mailed to my sister's address. July 21, I spoke to Shantell and was told that cheque was mailed to a shipping address and Rooms to go Corporate office had to wait for cheque to be returned before its canceled. Please note that I live in The Bahamas, and have to pay for overseas calls!. I called July 28, every week for the entire month of August and was given the same lies that cheque was mailed to my sisters address.
This is blatant poor customer service, is this the treatment that you give your Bahamian customers? By the way I purchased furniture from Rooms to Go in Fr. Lauderdale but service was outstanding. He said that there's nothing he can do but call Corporate Office He promised to call me but never did. I finally spoke to Office Manager, who had some empathy she made some calls and finally given a cheque on Sept Customer service is horrible.
I ordered 2 items on Tuesday and changed my mind on Wednesday. No problems at all, either with the goods or service. They do have some cheap stuff, just know what you're looking at and you can find the better stuff.
If you like to get new furniture every yrs and not feel guilty, Rms 2 Go is good for that. I like that its inexpensive, I don't have to commit to a style for decades and they run very long no interest deals.
We've bought leather pieces and some are yrs old and look and feel great still, one being a recliner that gets heavy use. We've never had any customer service issues and we changed an order at the last minute last time, handled it smoothly. Delivery was uneventful and I haven't rec'd any damaged pieces. Thank you for your responses. I looked up furnitureland south and there prices look good.
Do you know if they sell sets? I'd rather buy a bedroom set bed, dresser, night tables all in one package as well as a dining room set table and chairs and also a living room set sofa, love seat, chair. If you can let me know what other places there are I would really appreciate it. Thanks again. Sofas for over 2K I found a gorgeous sofa in Cooper's, made in NC, 8 way hand tied coils. Down the line also gonna need to purchase the dinner table, bar stools, and bedroom sets, but trying to pace it out over a little time. My question is concerning negotiating the price. Do these large companies have room to negotiate, or is the price pretty much set?
Do you recommend looking at smaller companies in the area and if so, can you provide information on where they are located? How much negotating room is possible? I also am curious about delivery charges. I know at some places this can cost hundreds of additional dollars. Again is this something that can be negotiated? Also, if they do charge a delivery fee, is there an expectation to tip the movers? I'm gonna be living on the third floor Thanks, any help is greatly appreciated. Originally Posted by MysteryMT.

There are some great deals in there alot of times. Great deals up there! They will give more discounts if you buy large amounts of furniture.
